Valentine Stations

Hello everyone!  Thanks for stopping by!
Last week our literacy stations had a Valentine's theme.  I hope you enjoy taking a look!

Heart Puzzles- at this station students put the magnet heart puzzles together by matching the picture with the word.

Students then recorded the match on their paper.

Word Stamping- At this station students stamped the word to match their picture using letter stamps.

Arctic Freeze- at this station students select a picture card from the basket and place it on their Eskimo mat.

Students then use a dry erase marker to write the word in the boxes provided.

Finally students record the word on their paper in the appropriate box.

Syllable Count- at this station students select a heart card from the tabletop pocket chart.  Behind each heart is a valentine themed picture card.

Students count the heartbeats (syllables) in the word.

Finally, they record the word on their paper beside the matching heart.

Valentine Spin and Write- students had so much fun practicing sight words at this station!  First students spin the word spinner.  This determines which word they will write on their graph.  Next students spin the tool spinner.  This determines which "tool" they will use to write their word (colored pencils, markers, etc.)

Finally students write the word on their paper.

I hope you enjoyed viewing our literacy stations.  Have a great week!
